The Dover Sherborn Youth Football program is off the ground and thriving following its relaunch earlier this year.
Participation has been incredibly strong thus far with over 60 athletes taking part in the winter Skills & Drills sessions hosted by program sponsor Resilience Medfield.
There is a lot to look forward to this spring with programming including K–3 flag football, Girls Flag Football for grades 4–8, youth tackle football, weekly Position Skills & Drills sessions and DS Youth Football’s first-ever Quarterback Academy.
The organizers have focused on offering a fun and safe environment for kids to become more familiar with the sport with the ultimate goal of creating a pipeline of athletes heading into high school.

Program Director and parent JP Comella commented, “We’ve been really encouraged by the turnout and energy from the kids so far. They’ve responded in a big way to the high school players who have been involved with the program. Their work ethic, consistency, and big-brother approach have made a real impact on the younger players. A big focus for us right now is making sure we have the support and resources in place to provide a safe, well-run program and the right equipment for the kids.”
To that end, DS Youth Football is hosting an NFL Draft Watch Party/Fundraiser presented by Future Standard that will include a buffet, drinks, raffles and a live auction on Thursday, April 23.
The event is open to parents, supporters, local residents, and anyone who supports football with proceeds supporting continued program growth and future opportunities for players in our community. More information is available at www.dsyouthfootball.org.
